Having dull and frizzy hair is the most common problem among girls today.  It becomes more frustrating when you have curly hair. You put in so much effort to make your hair look perfect before you go out of the house. But ultimately it becomes shineless and unmanageable again.

Frizzy hair requires proper care and nourishment. Also, it is important to have a balanced diet including all the nutrients and drink plenty of water to keep your hair shiny and healthy.

Let us look at some of the home remedies we have put together for you to get rid of frizzy and dull hair

 Proper Oiling

Oiling keeps your scalp nourished and moisturized which makes hair shiny and frizz-free. Having hot oil massage is a great way to treat your dull and frizzy hair.

There are so many different oils like coconut oil, castor oil, almond and olive oil with unique properties. You can choose what oils to use depending on what suits your hair best.

Honey and Yogurt       

Yogurt acts a great deep conditioner. It’s full of protein, which will help strengthen the hair shaft and making them less prone to damage and split ends. Honey provides moisture to hair. It also acts as an emollient and makes hair smoother and shinier.

  • Mix 2 teaspoons of yogurt with 1 teaspoon of honey in a bowl.
  • Apply the mixture on your scalp hair and leave for 30 minutes.
  • Wash off with normal water and shampoo.
  • Do this once a week to restore moisture and maintain your hair.


Beer is loaded with proteins that nourishes and strengthens your hair.

  • Decarbonate beer by pouring it in a bowl and let it sit overnight.
  • In the morning after washing your hair with shampoo pour beer on your scalp and massage it thoroughly.
  • Rinse the beer out with cold water.
  • Repeat it twice a week.

Banana and Honey mask

Banana hair mask puts moisture back into your stressed tresses. It is loaded with loads of antioxidants, Vitamin Bs and Vitamin C. This makes hair soft, manageable and smooth.

  • Mash a ripe banana until no lumps are formed in it.
  • Mix it with 1 teaspoon of honey and coconut/almond oil to form a smooth paste.
  • Apply this mixture on your scalp and hair and leave for 20-25 minutes.
  • Rinse it off with shampoo.
  • Apply this mask once a week to get best results.

Egg mask

Eggs are rich in protein and makes hair healthy and soft. It works wonders for dull and damaged hair. Almond oil acts as a natural hair emollient and conditioner, while the egg repairs damage in the hair shaft with its high protein content.

  • Whisk an egg and mix it with almond/olive oil to make a smooth paste.
  • Apply this mask on your scalp and hair and leave for 30 minutes.
  • Wash it off with a mild shampoo.
  • Apply this once a week.

Avocado mask

Avocado contains Vitamin B and E which nourishes the hair and repair damage. It acts effectively to treat frizzy hair.

  • Cut an avocado and remove the pit.
  •  Mash it and mix with one tablespoon of yogurt.
  • Apply this mask on your hair and leave for 20-25 minutes.
  • Wash it off with shampoo and normal water.
